He made photography a medium about time and motion. He made several breakthroughs such as answering the question if all four hooves on a horse leaves the ground simultaneously. This is significant because it was a huge scientific debate at the time. I found the answering of a scientific debate the most interesting because he was able to determine the answer by freeze framing.
